In today’s modern world, many people seem to suffer from an over-crowded life, but don’t know what to do about it. They struggle with feeling over-committed and under- connected and long to return to simpler times. Jim Burns of the HomeWord Center for Youth and Family at Azusa Pacific University has dealt with this dilemma over the years and shares with us about how some words from a friend helped him put life into perspective:
If Jim’s words resinate with you, take a moment to pray to God for wisdom in how you should balance your life. Perhaps you need to learn to say no to certain opportunities or cut down on your current commitment level. In Ephesians 5:15-17 the Apostle Paul gives us these instructions, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
What is the will of the Lord? It can be found in the pages of His Word! God promises to grant wisdom to those who seek after it and it is our prayer that He will help you as you look carefully at your life and discern how to best manage your time, living each day to His glory!
