“Failure.” This word is almost impossible to hear without negative connotations coming to mind! Most people go through life fearful of failure, avoiding it at all costs; but in reality failure is one of the most important things a person can experience. After Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and no legs, his parents made a decision to do their best to allow him to learn many things on his own, not always rushing in to help him after he failed at the first attempt. Today, Nick reflects back on how this policy ultimately taught him tenacity and perseverance no matter what task he sets his mind to:

The bible is full of examples of people falling short of God’s perfect standard. Even the godly King David failed miserably when he sinned with Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11. However, because he repented of his sin, God used David’s failures to shape him into one of Israel’s greatest kings and God is faithful to do the same with each of us as we fail, repent, and become stronger in our Christian walk. There is no more powerful teacher than failure, and by God’s grace, we can continue to grow as Christians and as people, learning from our moments of failure and becoming better because of them!
