Kim Meeder’s father was her hero. At the age of nine, she learned about something no child would ever want to know. Kim describes the woman who told her the jolting news of her father killing her mother and himself. Kim remembers thinking, “You’re a lier! I love my Dad and my Dad loves my Mom and he would never do that.” She broke out of the woman’s arms and ran out of the house in a child’s effort to outrun the unthinkable. Through the indescribable shock, Jesus nurtured Kim over the years. She experienced that when you are broken and crushed (as in Isaiah 61:1), Jesus is there. Today, she and her husband bring Christ’s hope and healing to hurting teens at their Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch.
