Danny Lehmann was speaking at a big conference in England when he called his wife, Linda. God used what she said to speak to him. She explained that she was caring for his mother-in-law, who was brain damaged, and was experiencing the presence of Jesus while doing it. It struck Danny that we mix up God’s idea of big and little when it comes to the significance of our lives before the Lord. Danny examined the Scriptures and saw the next big thing in life is the next thing that God tells you to do. He says, “Whether it’s picking up a cigarette butt in a parking lot or preaching in front of fifty-thousand people. If God is telling you to do it, it’s big!” Psalm 16:5 says, “LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;…” what is the Lord telling you to do? No matter how small, do it. The little things we do in obedience to the Lord are huge.
