Michelle Okimura is a wife, mother, pastor and author. She speaks with tenderness of a painful moment. It was her senior prom night. Her mother had sewn a beautiful dress and she was dolled up. Looking for words of affirmation, she asked a very important authority figure how she looked. The words came back like sharp arrows. Cutting words that scarred her for years. It became one of the pivotal moments that froze in her memory which contributed to forming her fragile identity. Sixteen years later, she experienced inner healing.
